Zatecky Gus is enjoyable to drink; it has a pleasant and soft taste with traditional subtle bitterness and has pronounced hoppy aroma.

Zatecky Gus beer is brewed with hops that grow in the vicinity of Žatec, which is known as «the capital of hops» in the Czech Republic. Hops are grown by the Hop Research Institute and are reputed as highest quality hops in the world. Due to them, this sort of beer has inimitable exquisite aroma.

Medium white head. Yellow body with light carbonation in small bubbles. Faint milky peppery aroma. Dry-sweetish mealy milky peppery taste. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Fairly clean palate. Dry papery grassy aftertaste with apple notes. Kind of short aftertaste. A bit watery, but not bad. No character, though. (0.5l bottle, Netto supermarket, St. Petersburg.)

500ml Bottle - Golden with a white head. Sterile, grainy and malty aroma with some hints of weetabix. Grainy taste with more hints of weetabix and malt. Very boring and it certainly doesn’t live up to description. I don’t know why I sound surprised, though!
