Keg at the brewpub, 18/02/15. Light black with moderate tan spotting. Nose is rich dark fruit rinds, fruit cake, tangy red berry, malt, spice. Taste comprises chocolate, light spice, toffee, light wood, subtle bourbon barrel, Christmas cake. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok barley wine, pretty rich stuff but far from a great.

750 mL bottle from the brewery, Batch 1, shared at the Baltimore Late Late Summer Gathering, 9/14/13. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of chocolate, whiskey, tart fruits. The taste is tart fruits, toffee, chocolate, raisin. Medium bodied. Seems like it might be a little TOO tart, but still a solid beer.
