Proeftuin release inspired by the historic monastic site and nature reserve of Barbara’s Weerd. Historically, beers like Tripel were not pale or blond. Until the early 20th century, most strong ales were amber. The challenge for brewers was to create the highest possible alcohol level while pushing color as light as possible with the malt technology available at the time. An amber, strong Tripel-style beer was therefore completely normal.
Barbara’s Weerd is our interpretation of that historical concept: brewed to 10.2% ABV, built on a full, layered malt backbone for depth, structure and residual sweetness, and balanced by classic noble hop aromatics. Fermented with our own Hertog Jan top-fermenting yeast, delivering complex esters with notes of dark fruit, bread crust and warming alcohol. Designed to drink almost wine-like, yet unmistakably beer.

Kruikje gedeeld met Roelzie. Het is een helder amberkleurig bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van zoetige fruitige tonen. De smaak is fruitig, karamel achtig en kruidig in de afdronk.
