Inspired by the beers that accompanied America’s expansion into the West, District Common is fermented using a lager yeast at temperatures common to ale fermentation. The result is a pale, well-balanced beer combining crisp lager character with fruity ale notes. The clean grain bill provides a refreshing drinkability and supports late aroma additions of Czech Saaz hops.

Draught @ Smoke and Barrel, Washington, D.C. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt with fruity notes. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of malt and metal with fruity notes. Metaælic and slughtly fruity aftertaste. Could be better.

Pour is a clear amber with a average white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with something like gingerbread. Flavor is again malty but think with a roasted nut thing going on after the swallow. Ok beer and right on for the style.

On tap at Paradiso Georgetown. Pours a hazy orange with some creamy, lacing, white head. Nose is very yeasty, white bread, honey, a little orange. Flavor has a lot of creamed corn, orange, lots of yeast, soggy white bread, honey. Sweet, creamy finish.

Draft on launch day at Meridian Pint. Hazy to cloudy light amber color, white edge head. Aroma of lightly spiced brown bread dough. Taste is malty caramel, subtle white pepper. Not bad.

On tap at Meridian Pint, brewery release day. Welcome to the neighborhood! Poured a pretty hazy, orange-copper color, wispy head. Aroma was actually pretty light, not much there beyond light malts and some light hops. Flavor was light bready malt. Pretty sessionable.
