Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’14, day 3, 04/12/14. Lightly hazed golden with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is big smoked malts, grain, dark fruit rinds, spice. Taste comprises smoked gammon, caramel, bready depths, smoked malt. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Solid smoked affair, good balance, not overpowering.

Cask gravity at the Pig’s ear 2014. Aroma is nice maple glazed smoked sausage, beach wood, rauch malt. A little bit of a fruity edge on the nose as well. Golden coloured pour with a light haze and a lasting loose white head. Flavour is sweet nutty malts with smoked sausage meat, touch of apple. Palate is quite sweet, sticky, moderate carbonation. Lingering smoke phenol and apple twang. Not a bad effort.
