New Beer Distributors, NYC 375ml ($9.25): Pours black with an immense creamy coffee foam coloured head. Aroma is a ton of coffee, with a slight boozy note; there are a lot of roasted malts notes, but of course. Taste hits hard right at the front, but mellows towards the back. You can feel this beer go inside of you all too well, if you know what I mean. The alcohol is noticeable and the aftertaste is formidable (lingering for quite a long time). Fortunately, not too sweet, but still sugary if you get my drift. Sticky, gooey, almost dirty. Less boozy than the aroma, but still noticeable. Pretty fierce. I actually liked this more than I thought I would, but the 375ml are plenty for me.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. A near jet black beer with a medium sized sidesticking chocolate head. Aroma has lots of chocolate and roastiness, dark sweet caramel and tons of deep dark coffee! My god this is a nice aroma! Oh, ashy and lot's of cold dark espresso. Heavy roasted and tons of dark belgian chocolate! Really satisfying, light sweet and tasty as hell! 12.05.2012

Bouteille 37.5cl, BB 10-01-2017.

Tap @ Beer Temple. Dark color, medium brown head. Aroma of loads of coffee, roasted malt, chocolat. Nice spicy coffee which blends very nicely with the roasted malts from the base beer, the coffee is quite present but never overpowers the base beer. Soft bitter taste, medium sweetness. Full bodied. Very nice stuff.

Shared 375 ml bottle, thanks to Ole Anders. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Strong roasty aroma of coffee and wood, a hint of ashes. Even more distinct roasty and coffee notes in the flavour, quite dry, woody and ashy.

Pours black into a tulip. Mocha head with little retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Hot milk chocolate and coffee aromas. Thick with dark chocolate and resin upfront turning to hot espresso in the lasting finish.
