Redhook’s twist on the Belgian style is the addition of fresh ginger, which adds a refreshing snappiness to this lighter-bodied wheat beer. Redhook Wit is perfect for warm summer months of outdoor BBQ-ing, sitting by the pool, or just taking a break by hanging inside enjoying the AC and watching old re-runs of Gilligan’s Island.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy, golden color. Really nice foamy head. Very spicy aroma, not much ginger though. Taste was also spicy but again not a lot of the ginger. Really good beer to drink on the beach.

Cool looking 12oz bottle pours with a deep slightly hazy pale gold body that supports a tiny off white head. The aroma has pretty big banana notes, a bit of faint cloves and some mild grainy malts. The taste is similar with banana, some wheat to malt notes and sweet malt sweetness. Overall a bit too sweet to really enjoy.

Looks and smells like a wit, cloudy pale golden with paper thin head. Hints of citrus and spice, smooth and light mouthfeel. Good example of the style.

Deep Hazy Yellow / Light Orange Color, Medium lively head that disappears in 30 seconds, no lacing. Funky Ginger Aroma. Wheat, orange, Ginger. Easily drinkable, refreshing, although I’m no fan of ginger. Seems OK blend of wheat and spices. Just OK for me....

12oz bottle. Hazy orange body, thin head...fast rising carbonation bubbles. The aroma isn’t that impressive, not much going on. The ginger is pleasantly mild, and sort of works with the yeasty wheat tones. A pretty decent idea, flavor meld...but the final product is a little muted, too tame for its own good. Not bad per se, just a little boring.

Camp Bisco, NY tap: Pours a light orange with a white head. Aroma is light citrus and spice. Ginger? Where? Taste is basically normal light witbier. Spicy, a bit sweet. Not extremely light .Not terrible, but yeah...

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy yellow-peach color with a medium sized foamy white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dryish and a bit must and dusty with a bit of black pepper. The flavor was dryish, musty and yeasty with notes of black pepper, citrus and a bit of sulfur. Medium length finish of must, pepper and citrus. Medium body. Eh.
