Bag in box at Nacht van de Grote Dorst. 4 year old. Bit hazy dark orange golden with a few bubbles. Funk, vanilla, soft caramel, light red currants, lemon peel, soft herbs. Quite sour, under medium bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied with no carbonation. Pretty good actually!

Found on tap in Trieste of all places, bartender said it had been aged 5 years. Aroma is mellowed out lambic sharp cheese and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Looks clear copper and just tiny surface bubbles, just as a lambic should be. Flavour is notes of vanilla, licorice, oak smoke embedded in a huge acidic lemon body and taking on balsamic vinegar qualities. Palate has a smooth and filling presence, nothing is missed. A very fine lambic indeed.

5 liter lambic-in-a-box at Arrogant Pub. The owner Alle explained that this was specially made for him for last year's Arrogant Sour Festival, and was fortunately listed on the taplist when we visited, since he still has several boxes left. Cloudy yellow color, few large bubbles. Aroma of deep funk and dust. Taste is sour lemon with barnyard, wet blanket, summer fruit, tart dry finish. Nice complexity. Makes me look forward to the next Arrogant Sour Festival!Earlier Rating: 4/30/2013 Total Score: 3.7Clear dark golden color, flat. Aroma of musty blankets, dusty lemon. Taste is sour and acidic citrus, dusty finish.
