Effervescent and shimmering gold, this summer pale dances across the palate with crisp pale malt and a cool breeze of citrus bitterness. It is all bees, and things, and flowers in a glass, as bright lemon and grapefruit notes glide through an easy, laid-back groove that could soundtrack any long afternoon in the sunshine.

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. Is slow to settle but does so eventually. Aroma has flowers, yeast and malts. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy. Flavours are mainly malts, citrus and floral hops plus hints of herbs, grapefruit and honey. Some bitterness in the dry finish. This is reasonable and certainly refreshing – but a bit too much citrus for my taste.

Clear and golden with a frothy / creamy white head and a soft cereal malt aroma. Fresh and fruity, floral hops and a hint of honey sweetness, finishes dry and slightly bitter.
