Barrel ‘97 is a new, draft-only 7.90% Wild Ale, which will be available this Friday at Block 15. We descended into our subterranean wild cellar to hand-select the three barrels used in this unique wild red wheat farmhouse blend. Expect funky, tart flavor notes with dried flowers and wild honey.

On tap at Loyal Legion - Portland, pours a clear copper, almost no head. Aroma has a complex wild yeast character, with lots of old woody character, gentle tartness, and a touch of berry-like fruitiness. Flavour is quite acidic, with intense woody oaky character, deep wild yeast complexity, just a hint of acetone, and some musty leathery character. Impressively unique wild yeast expression with an acidity level on the border between acceptable and overbearing. Very good overall.
