A modern throwback. We polled our 150 members in-house AV Club on what they wanted to see on our taplist. Black IPA won in a landslide. So we overdubbed some Simcoe and Cashmere hops to rep the old school over a dope track of Idaho 7. The result is toasty with notes of dark cacao, but not stout dark, with big citrus jams of grapefruit and lemon peel. Best enjoyed at night.

On tap at Vice, pours a red-tinged deep dark brown with a small white head. Aroma has medium roasted malt and gentle earthy hops. Flavour is nicely balanced between gently roasted malt and earthy, piney hops. Smooth and well-balanced, even if rather timid. Solid.
