Bottle from Bierzwerg. Red brown color with medium beige head. Aroma, caramel some fruits. Taste, some kind of cola. Bad. Nothing to do with porter.

50cl bottle. What a total waste of money to buy this. Poured dark brown color with a thin head. Aroma is sweet caramel, flavor is a blend of sugar and sugar and the finish is somewhat harsh. Thin. Why do they destroy the beer like this?

First Snowfall of the Season tasting in Odense. Dark brown with a small off-white head. The aroma has lots of DMS, some hay and a hint of berries. Cloying sweet caramel flavour with a strong note of artificial sweetener and some DMS.

500ml bottle. Deep, ruddy brown with a contrasting, tight white head. Sweet caramel and red fruit aroma, with some burnt sugar. Very sweet, almost cola-like flavour, with a syrupy finish. Tailed off badly.

A dark clear brown porter with a thick moka head. Light aroma of Nestle Quick. In mouth, a cloying sweet fake chocolate, like making Quick in water, and adding brown sugar and maple! Another comparator, flat diluted coke. Notes of oxidation appear later. Watery and bad. BB 11-03-08. From the sounds of it, it doesnt taste any better fresh.

Dark brown. Hazy. Faint aroma has some cocoa and dark malt notes, but they are somewhat limited. Very sweet, with toffee and brown sugars. Very sweet finish but tastes ok. There isn’t any balance but the sugars are soft.

Bottle from Reading BF 09, drunk at home. I’ve always had a soft spot for Schwarzes. Very deep brown/ruby. Ooh, this is poor. Too sweet. Lacking in flavour almost entirely and then sugary sweet. Very poor. 33324 1.5/5.0 Re-rate bottle from a colleague at work. If you chill it right down the sweetness disipates a bit and its not so bad. It still pretty poor, no bad flavours and way too sweet, but not as bad as the first time I had it.
