Even in 1895 Porter was brewed from the mountain spring in Löbau, and it was a beloved drink in the Lausitz. With our Lausitzer Porter, we successfully continue this brewing tradition.

10/01 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing with ogivlado and me! It poured clear reddish brown body with small ebony head. Boring aroma, industrial malty and sweet (which was damn strange to me as I did not read the comm saying this is a "sweet porter") Flavor is sweet as well in the way of caramel and sweet sugar, with some minor porterish coffee notes. Medium bodied with shorter, sweet sugary finish. Much more like a Dunkel than a Porter, I can get why there is so much contradictions on this one, but it was not so good indeed, although I didn’t dislike it as the other two.

Bottled(500ml). -Hmmm, German porter with average rating 2.02; this must be something veeery goood...Courtesy of Doggythedog (thanks!) who shared it with me and heavy.
Pale brown coloured, medium sized white head, some odd microwave popcorn nose. Heavy sweetness and highly pronounced popcorn taste with watery palate. That average of 2.02 makes this beer very overrated.

0.5l bottle brought from Dresden by a friend (thanks a lot Krešimir!), shared it with ogivlado and heavy. Poured a brown body with a small-medium white head. Dusty and grainy nose with distinct notes of popcorn. The taste turns out to be malzbier-like sweet with popcorn making an even more distinct appearance. Just a drop of lemon. I can see how it could be tasty for someone, but it really didn’t push my buttons.

Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are sweet sugary malt. Taste is more like a danish hvidtøl.

Bottle, Real Flensburg. Frothy off-white good mostly deminishing head. Dark brown colour. Moderate sweet light bitter flavor. Week chocolate notes. Short finish. Watery palate. Nothing at all like porters normally are.

500ml bottle picked up at the beer shop Kihoskh in Copenhagen. Mahogany coloured body without a head, but some laceworks on the glass. Light aroma of dark malts. Malty flavour with mixed in sugar. Very disappointing and not much of a porter (shared with Finn A. 29.05.2008).
