“Kosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmos’ mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.”

Wenig bitteres Finish. 7/8/8/7/8/8

bottle from the "family" sixer, pours light gold with a medium white head. Aroma is pale grain and corn. Flavor is crisp pale malts, some corn and a nice finish of peppery hops. Seems like a nice light pils to me.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan. Steady, thin, white head. Medium bodied, sessionable Lager. Smooth malty tones, nice Lager tones. Unimpressive soapy, peppery hop balance. A little too harsh and biting, kind of throws the beer off. I can dig the concept, but it certainly isn’t done well here. OK and sessionable.

Pours brilliantly clear deep gold with weak white head. The mild aroma has notes of sweetness and fruity esters and maybe a touch of biscuit. The taste is sort of yuck with sweet slick malts, oddly thin body, graininess and floral hops. It ends with a touch of grainy malts and faint spicy hops. These faint flavors really don’t go well together here.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized head of white foam and aromas of euro-skunked hops with a little grass and corn. Flavor is similar... a kind of grainy lager with a little skunky hops. A couple of steps up from macro-swill, but not very interesting.

Pours light copper color with off white head that doesn’t last. Lightly toasted malt aroma with some nuttiness. Caramel malts, slighly sweet and nutty flavor. Medium body with soft carbonation.

Bottle from ericandersnavy (who hasn’t rated it) thanks!! Pours copper with a rapidly disappearing white head. Warm malty aroma with a hit of grassy hop. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is smoothly, caramelly with some spicey hop. Underrated. If the ABV was way up, it might be all the rage. If there were a barleywine bell curve, this could be placed on it. Off to the left quite a bit, but it suggests that sort of flavor.
