“Kosmos Spoetzl knew how to brew great beer. Born in Bavaria, Kosmos’ mastery of German brewing carried him as far as Egypt before he found his way to the small Texas town of Shiner. Our proud brewery still carries his name and commitment to excellence in brewing. This full-flavored, hop-jacked lager is every bit as unique as the man himself and our way of saluting the brewmaster who started it all.”

Clean smell, pale lager look with a slightly scummy top. Somewhat strong malty taste. Turns a little fruity at times. Goes down fairly easy. Has that typical shiner personality. Decent finsh, could have more manners.

Pours with no head over a very light cardboard hued body. Aroma of cereal, light german hops, a bit of dust and a touch of DMS (cooked corn). Taste is a bit of dirt or soil, metallic copper and DMS. Bone dry mouthfeel and a metallic finish. Kosmos should be rolling in his grave knowing this was named after him.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper golden with a small white frothybhea that quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a fruit malt with raisin and caramel. The taste is a corn malt and wheat grass. Not much going on with this one.
