The gold-colored Palmetto Charleston Lager is perhaps the company’s cleverest creation; it’s strong in flavor, crisp, with a fresh, clean finish (i.e., no lingering aftertaste), but light enough so you could drink it just about all day. Yeast and a cool fermentation are what make a lager a lager, and Palmetto’s is among the smoothest, mellowest around.

Slightly hazy golden colour with light orange and a thin off-white head. Smells of citrus (lemon, oranges & grapefruit), a small amount of hops and an even smaller amount of malt. Some fairly sweet aromas come from the beer as well. Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour with an odd nutty taste. Some slight citrus hop taste near the end as well. Aftertaste has a great balance of hops and malt with a complexity of a top-notch beer. Overall a very nice beer that one should try if available! I was lucky enough to get my twelve ounce bottle from mabdoney in Florida...Thanks again Matt! I sampled this beer on 11-September-2003.
