Evolution de la Saint-Denis, bière du nom d’un Saint du village de Toernich, berceau de toutes nos bières. Pour cette création, le taux d’alcool monte de 7,5 % à 9 %. Elle se complexifie en ajoutant 1 malt et 1 houblon différent pour un total de 5 malts et 5 houblons différents. La recette évoluera vite par le remplacement du malt Pale Ale par du Cara 5 ce qui lui amènera sa douceur légendaire… en bouche.

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw, malt, fruit, and a bit of yeast. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of alcohol, fruit, and some spices, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The alcohol warms the tongue.

Bottled at PBF. Hazy golden with lots of particles, lively brie head. Salty marzipan aroma. Sweet and full bodied, fruity with well de3fined malt and some alcohol. Dominated by marzipan.

Bottled 0,75 ltr (PBF, BBE 2012) Deep orange color, floating yeast particles, very small white head. Fruity-yeasty aroma - mango and pineapple. Alcoholic, a bit spicey, dry yeast flavor. Some kind of mouldy notes too. Simple, not very complex.

Bottled. Golden colour, big white particles floating around. Aroma is alcohol, some fruits annd yeast. Flavour is spices, mild fruityness, yeast and some alcohol. Very pleasant brew.

Bottle: Poured a murky orange brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is very spicy and citrus, but there is also a caramel to it. The smell really makes me interested. The taste is very peppery with lots of burn. There is that bitter finish.

Bottle 75cl @ Zythos Bier Festival 2008, Sint Niklaas, Belgium. Light unclear medium orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, grass, citrus, notes of toffee and butter. Flavor is moderate sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to ’medium to full’, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (020308)

ZBF2008: From tap. Pours hazy orange with a lacing white head. Orange fruity and light spiced yeast aroma. Orange peel and hoppy flavour. Mild caramel malt base. Solid bitterness into the finish. Ends with a lingering orange fruity note. Nice.

Nearly clear orange-amber beer with a dense, yellowish head. Hops, dry hop bales, bit of cornflakes, little touch of caramel. Alcohol, brandy-like. Some caramel, fresh greenery, like parsley, spicy, but with quite sweet finish. Slick, well bodied, alcoholic, but dangerously quaffable. This is indeed, a severe old-timer, as the name suggests. I like it, Victorian that I am.
