Inspired by the strong stouts and porters brewed in the late 19th century Britain, this recipe utilises brown, black, amber and crystal malts over a base of pale malt. Using all British grown kettle hops and fermented with a historic ale yeast.

Can thanks to McCash. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of earthy malt, soil, dry cocoa. Odd profile. Heavily tannic. Damp grainy taste, damp basement. It's complex, but I'm not sure it's pleasant.

Can from Appellation Wines.
Appearance - mat to jet black and a lovely creamy tan head.
Nose - earthy, iron and burnt bread.
Taste - honey, burnt bread and dry black berries.
Palate - medium bodied, quite gnarly and a long, dry finish. Tannic too.
Overall - a strong dry stout. Challenging but worth persevering with.
