Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours near black with a chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges and a some visible chocolate looking flakes. Aroma has a good amount of dark grains and chocolate with a slight boozy note underlying. Flavor is similar with bitter dark chocolate and dark grains with a hint of booze underlying.

Location: Draft at Brixx - Uptown Charlotte, 1/28/15
Aroma: The nose is chocolate milkshake, coconut, and some underlying black coffee.
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a frothy head and some fairly heavy lacing.
Flavor: The flavor is sweet and chocolaty, there's some unsweet coffee bitterness too.
Palate: It is fairly full bodied and creamy, with a nice, smooth feel, and a soft carbonation.
Overall Impression: I really enjoyed this one. The lightly unsweet coffee makes it more of a balanced beer than I probably would have guessed, and upped the enjoyment factor for me as well.

On tap @ NoDa with jcnielsen. Pours a hazy dark brown appearance with a light brown head. Licorice, cocoa, and caramel in the nose. Fairly sweet. Lot of coconut (seems like more than the normal release). Dark chocolate. Light to moderate sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Decently balanced, but I’m just not too crazy about the flavor.
