This American style Barleywine belongs to Torrside’s ‘Monsters’ range of strong ‘partigyle’ beers, a group of beers derived from a single mash, each treated differently to create distinct characters. Some beers go into the barrel-aging programme, while others become ‘Vintage’ styles – Monsters brewed annually and designed to age elegantly over the years. This 2026 Barleywine is one of the latter. This one follows the American interpretation of the Barleywine, which with a punchier, more bitter, hoppy character and more toasted malt than the English original.
