Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks kerenmk. Dark amber-brown with a beige head. Aroma of fruits, yeast, caramel and lots of apple (acetaldehyde). Sweet flavor with caramel, fruits, an acidic apple touch and a dry and slightly alcoholic finish. Medium-bodied.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik as B(r)ok-in-de-keel, 2014 version at 8.5%, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Slight hazy copper color, short frothy off-white head. Aroma of raisin, bit chocolate, caramel, toffee, bit citrussy and piney hop, slight alcohol note as well. Medium sweet in taste, slight bitter. Quite clean. Full bodied, soft carbonation. Doppelbock going towards a European style barley wine almost. Lovely!

Bottle [8% version, as B(r)ok in de Keel] @ Van Moll Brewpub. Nice lightly hazy dark red-brown color with a medium sized beige head on top. Aroma is malts, lightly sweet, a hint of caramel and toffee. Taste malts, caramel, toffee, slightly leaves, figs, sweetness, the slightest touch of liquorice, slightly earthy, a light bitter finish after swallowing. Starts off as one of so many doppelbocks, but let it warm up and you’ll find it has way more to offer. It’s not my style but I’m quite impressed. Well done!
