Bottle. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, wood, wine, lactose acid, fruits and hops. Little vinous.

33cl bottle from Bier Navigatie. Very thick off white head. Clear deep burgundy pour. A very nice bock

330ml bottle. Cloudy dark brown colour with huge, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Malty aroma, floral, funky yeasty overtones, hints of aromatised dark chocolate with orange and gratefruit flavour, even a (dissipating) touch of cinnamon. Taste is floral and funky yeasty, almost bretty, notes of aromatised dark chocolate with grapefruit flavour, orange zest. bitter hoppy overtones with minimally soapy lemon touch. The label says: American Lager yeast. OK. Hence the six hop varieties (Cascade, Cluster, Chinook, Summit, Phoenix, Northdown) must be responsible for something I considered to be a substantial brett quality hitherto. Oh, by the way, what we’ve got here is a nice beer, but nothing I would rubricate as Doppelbock.

On tap at PINT BBF’13. As B(r)ok-in-de-Keel. Dark brown colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of loads of citrussy hops, grapefruit, some caramel. Flavour is medium-sweet, malty, caramel, chocolate, roasted malts, quickly overtaken by loads of hops, grapefruit, citrus, firm bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Not much to do with a bock. Bock IPA?
