Our Second Anniversary Ale is a very limited
Smoked Imperial Porter, called TWO.
This Porter is a stronger, smoked version of our flagship Porter. It is dark brown, almost black in color, and has a smoky, roasted aroma and smooth, rich, complex smoke and chocolate flavors.
Our Brewers and the Tasting Room crew teamed up to mill in by hand 5000 pounds of German beech wood smoked malt and 600 pounds of roasted malt. This was all done bag by bag over the course of an afternoon, truly a labor of love!
Enjoy TWO with smoked meats and cheeses in front of a fire.

Big smoke here. A little caramel, some leather. Black pour with decent head. bitter finish with a lingering touch of sweetness. Didn't realize I hadn't had this one. Tap.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a light beige head. Campfire, venison jerky, smoke, and yet more smoke.

5-6 oz draft pour at Adroit Theory, leftover keg from their Best Of Festival the day before. Black with tan head with some brown hues. Aromas of light smoke, caramel, dark chocolate. Tastes of medium to light smoke, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, light booze, syrup. Medium body with a dry and syrupy finish. Low carbonation. Aging pretty well, the smoke and meat/bacon-like notes I remember from having this fresh have faded quite a bit bringing out some of the sweetness. Would love to see them re-brew this to compare side by side with the original batch.

Draft: Noticeably woodless smoke and charcoal. Black, medium tan head. Sweet smoked malt. Smokiness is good, but a tad cloying.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Georgetown tap ($6): Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is lightly smoked roast, with some coffee and barely any chocolate. Taste is, however, underwhelming. No flavor really stands out. Body is far too light. Doesn’t feel like I am drinking a big beer at all. I think that they should have given this one a few more trys before putting this out.

On draft at Whole Foods - Tysons Corner VA. Pours black with a receding tan head. Light roasted malt aroma. Flavors of smoked nuts with coffee notes. Bitter burnt coffee aftertaste. Quite nice.

Draft at Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big smoky notes, mild roasted malts and stone fruits. The taste is smoked meat, caramel, faint apple notes. Medium bodied.

Draft. Extra dark brown color, brown head, solid lacing. Aroma is a really nice roasty smoulder, with burning cocoa. Taste is smooth and smokey. Delicious.
