Location: Draft at Queen City Q, 2/3/14
Aroma: The aroma is pine hops over citrus, some chocolate and roasted malts
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a light brown-sh-tan head and decent lace
Flavor: It is balanced between hop bitterness and roast/sweet malts, leans bitter on the close
Palate: The body is medium, it is pretty easy drinking, and has a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a well-made and enjoyable Black IPA (or Cascadian Dark if you prefer). Another nice one from NODA.

On tap @ NoDa with jcnielsen. Pours a hazy reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Pine and chocolate in the nose. Citrusy butter / diacetyl in the flavor. Not heavy but certainly annoying. High bitterness. Pine and herbal hops. Finishes very bitter. Second worst beer here.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a hazy dark red brown color with a thin tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, nuts, herbal hops. The taste is mildy roasted malts, chocolate, bitter citrus and resin hops. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. The roast is not so intense compared to other Black IPAs, which is pretty nice.
