Freestyle Hops Nectaron, Idaho 7 Lupomax, Citra Cryo & Kohia Nelson Hop Kief
Designed to explode with bright tropical fruit character, this hazy IPA was built on a recipe rich in bound thiols and finished with an enormous double dry hop.
We started with Idaho 7 LupoMAX, then dry-hopped mid-fermentation with an incredible lot of Freestyle Nectaron and Kohia Nelson Hop Kief - a unique blend of Nelson Sauvin, Rakau, and freeze-dried passionfruit. Once fermentation was complete, we loaded it up again with more Nectaron, more Kohia Nelson, and selected lots of Citra T90 and Citra Cryo for an intensely juicy finish.

On tap at Threefold. Pours opaque yellow with a small white head. Loads of yeast and pot on the nose. Flavour has more of pot, chalk, orange pith. Less obnoxiously yeasty on the palate than on the nose. Having a hard time finding that Nelson. Not a big fan.

Sampled from the tap at the Magnet. Pours a hazy earthy orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a bright citrus with some rind and a touch of grass coming through. Flavor has dank citrus and grass with growing melon and some cookie backing.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 2026/06/29). Hazy blonde with white head. Has that thiol character I'm often disappointed by, mild tropical hops with feint dank terp character and touch of yeast. Okay.

On tap at Threefold, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is full of intense pot-like dankness, moderate chalk, and earthiness. Flavour is along the same lines, with plenty of dankness, chalk, pot, and gentle earthiness. Not egregiously chalky, with a soft, pot-like finish. It’s alright.

The flavour mirrors the Aroma, with an explosion of bright, saturated tropical fruits, citrus, and stone fruit characteristics. It opens tart and refreshing, with clean acidity; there’s a beautiful complexity, soft citrus, nectarine and passionfruit esters, a touch of resin. The malts take a backseat on this one. But you can tell there is a barley, wheat, and oats grain bill at play. Followed by a satisfying, bitter, grapefruit, juicy finish. Despite the crazy hop concoction, it tastes surprisingly expressive and balanced. However, the grapefruit bitterness does build up gradually towards the end.
