Our Hefeweizen is 45% malted wheat, and 55% barley malt. Much of the character of this beer comes from its unique yeast, which is not filtered out, so it tends to leave the beer cloudy. The wheat portion of this ale creates a light, crisp, dry brew perfect for drinking on a hot day. The beer is lightly hopped with Saaz, but the aroma and most of the flavor of this beer come from the wheat beer yeast.
Beer Geek Stuff: Original gravity: 11.8„a Plato, final gravity 2.0„a P

Va BF 07 Draft: Marvelous strawberry and banana aroma. Cloudy pale golden pour with a thick head and good lacing. Rather strong and prominent banana flavor, but not complex. No finish worth mentioning. Still, it’s a fantastic beer and immensely enjoyable.

Fairly clear deep gold with a tall, long lasting white head. Spicy clove aroma. Fairly well done Hefeweizen. Not too much malt sweetness with just the right amount of bite coming from the wheat. Good body.

2005 bomber many thanks to the_beer_God. Shared with Muzzlehatch on 11/4/05. Yellow-orange with a pale-gold/copper tinge to it. Vigorous amounts of bubbles rise to create a white head this is large initially, but almost immediately recedes to a ring, just as quickly as it can fizzle away. Tons of clove in the aroma, some dry nutmeg-like notes and a bit of bread on end. A touch of fruits, but a significant lack of malt sweetness/complexity and little banana/bubble gum. Flavor begins with a touch of dry, yellow fruits, lots of spicy cloves and light canned peach syrup. Light bread dough and wheat dryness but a nice wheat creaminess to the texture. The clove eventually overtakes all other flavors and the bottle can not be finished. Somewhat watery on end, after warming, with light carbonation.
