“A farmhouse ale aged on whole bean coffee. Light in color with a touch of coffee in the aroma and taste. Our house yeast along with open fermentation and resident ‘Free Range Tarpon Springs Brettanomyces‘ add to the complexity of this ale. Brewed using 100% Belgian malt and whole cone noble hops.”

2015 bottle.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange to yellow color with a one finger white head that dissipated pretty quickly. Concave lacing forms around the glass nicely.
The smell starts off with a roasty to almost sweet coffee bean over top a light funky sweet to semi-sour grassiness. Light lemon slides in underneath. Light green apple skin shows a light bitterness.
The taste copies the smell for the most part with the coffee coming about nicely. Bitter again through the green apple skin. Somewhat grassy sweet. Wet coffee bean / grassy sweet aftertaste. Quick coffee finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a decent sessionable feel about it. Carbonation feels good, somewhat low enough to allow coffee to show a movable dry to wet feel all around.
Overall, interesting saison to say the least. That coffee aspect sure does make it one of a kind. I think I could have this one again.

Growler. I got no hint of coffee at all in this! At most, maybe a lingering whiff of roasted bean in the glass. At most. Otherwise its flowers and black pepper. Dandelion maybe. Interesting beer but the pepperiness and dandelion-funk begins to overwhelm after awhile, not something to have a lot of. Golden, modest carb.

On tap at Engine 15 during RBWG. Pours a cloudy yellow with medium frothy white head. The aroma is yeast and vinegar. Thin mouth with strong vinegar and wheat.

Draft at Holy Grale courtesy of Tyler, thank you sir! Cloudy yellow color, massive white ice cream cone head, delicate lacing. Aroma of straw, white pepper, subtle espresso and barnyard. Coffee is slightly more pronounced in the taste, but still subtle enough, with a bit of lemon and black pepper. Unique.
