New Albany’s sister city was described by H.P. Lovecraft in his story “The Dunwich Horror” as “lonely and curious,” boasting “sparsely scattered houses wear(ing) a surprisingly uniform aspect of age, squalor, and dilapidation”, with “gnarled, solitary” inhabitants who are “silent and furtive.” In other words, our quirky river town.

Tap at Bank Street location. Chocolate malt and light earthy smoky aroma. Black brown with a small tan head. Woody smoke, light sweet mocha, and slightly acidic flavor. Medium creamy body. Did I mention how much I love smoked beers?

Draft at the source. Clear deep ruby maroon color, beige head. Aroma of burnt coffee, subtle bitter cocoa. Taste is espresso with an edge of campfire. Nice subtlety and complexity. Delicious.
