It is a Belgian-style Pale Ale with an American twist. It is brewed with pale, caramel, and wheat malts, and hopped with centennial and Cascade hops to give it a distinctly American character. The medium bodied beer has a crisp palate and moderate bitterness coupled with the fruity esters from the abbey yeast strain. It is bottle and keg conditioned so expect a tall fluffy head and a small amount of sediment. Recipe by brewer, Jeff Musselman.

Draft at Max’s, Baltimore. Orange-brown color. Big, healthy head. Dry astringency in the aroma. Nice and bitter, with what tastes like some amber malt to balance and complement. Sweet and hoppy, with some interesting yeasty funkiness. Captures some Belgian qualities. Sweet and sugary finish. Complex and pretty good.

Bottle. Pours an orangish amber with a dense head and aromas of light hops and oranges and caramel. Flavor is very sweet and spicy. Lots cloves and pepper with a bit of sweet honey and caramel. Abbey like yeastiness to it with a bit of banana in the finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy but mostly clear golden color with a white head. Aroma is sweetness, notes of hops, spices. Flavor is a touch of fruit, mild hops, yeasty. A good Belgian Ale entry by Weyerbacher.

This beer is a hazy golden color with a medium thin cream colored head that diminishes quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is fruity with notes of yeast and mild spices. Light body with flavors of apple and peach along with sweet spices and yeast. The finish is fruity with a lingering yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle - lightly hazy straw-colored beer - impressive lace - lightly estery aroma, with some moderate belgian yeast phenols, crisp american hoppiness, lightly flinty character - medium-bodied - starts with some ambiguous fruity sweetness, but this quickly gives way to dry, crackery malts, assertive bitterness, grassy/herbal character - some toast, melon, banana - I quite like this one.

Grabbed a 12oz bottle from Chevy Chase Wine and Liquor last time I was in to see Larry. Pours a orange, bronze, amber with a creamy thin white head. Aroma was very Belgian, bananas, cloves, spice, some candy sugar, sweet sticky fruits. Flavor was nice, more fruits, more belgian yeast, candy, bananas, some light citrus (oranges mostly). I was excited to see what the cascades would up against the Belgian yeast. The yeast won, still drinkable though. I don’t love Belgians but I would suggest this for people who like sessionable ones.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy off white head and yellow/gold color. Aroma is herbal/pine/some perfumy, medium malt-bready. Taste is semi-dry-lemon/herbal/pine/some perfumy hops (saaz, centennial?), spice/pepper/clove, yeast, medium malt-bready. A lot going on here. Medium body. Nice American brewery doing a Belgian PA.
