Can at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours golden yellow with a slight greenish tinge, a medium sized foamy white head and a little lacing. Bitter hops dominate the aroma, but there’s also ginger and hints of spice. In the mouth there is quite a bit of sweetness at the start, but this overlays bitterness which quickly bursts through and dominates. Strongly bitter hoppiness is the main flavour but there are also grains, honey and hints of tomato and gooseberries. Finish is quite dry. This rather nice – what an IPA should taste like !
