Shoogle is an extra hoppy Belgian pale. High in bitterness, satisfyingly crisp and super fruity too thanks to the experimental hop schedule. Herbal and grassy notes too make for a complex flavour and aromatic profile.

This year’s version leans heavily on Harlequin for lashings of pineapple. Saphir adds an orange blossom, Blanc gooseberry and Olicana offers up flat peach notes.

Dookit say “Shoogle will become an annual project here at Dookit and is a homage to one of my favourite Belgian brews: Taras Boulba from Brasserie de le Senne. The grist, yeast and process follows a clone-like recipe but the hops will change from year to year. The idea was born out my love for Taras and not wanting to waste the bittering potential from the Southside Pale’s (brewed the previous day) whirlpool hops: over 3kg of UK grown Cascade go in at 75C and become the next days bittering addition for Shoogle.
