Pretty decent. Smells of a lot of coffee with thick nutty notes. Pours black and syrupy without any head or lacing. Taste has some sweetness, some sourness. Medium to low carbonation. Bottle from Village Beer Merchant.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Black with a huge (too huge) light brown head. Aroma of coffee, some roastiness and a bit of fruity notes. Sweetish flavor with malt, some roastiness, coffee notes and a slightly drier finish. Medium-bodied.

12oz bottle from Crossroads Beer & Wine, Burlington, MA. A pitch black pour with a ring of cream head; rich chocolate malt aroma, with no trace of oats; thin in the mouth, with an intense, dry, bitter, coffee flavour that’s not entirely pleasant; some body appears towards the end which is perhaps oaty, but otherwise it’s hard to see how this meets its description.

nothing really interesting here, the oatmeal thickness is not evident, same thickness as a regular stout, black, aroma is roasty toasty, nothing unique, not bad at all but probably not a repeat.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours black with tan head. Nose of sweet chocolate, cocoa, flaked oats and sweet milk. Taste is flaked oats, coffee, flaked barley, sweet chocolate and a touch of lactose. Well balanced. Body on the thinner side but kept together quite well. Very sessionable.

Opaque black stout. Palate seems light for a stout. Silky too. Fresh stout. No roasty malt or dryness here. Nor is it bitter. Just mild dark malt/ Somewhat one dimensional but a perfectly serviceable stout.
