4 oz. pour part of flight (slow night) at the brewery (cheekily renamed "Dead Beat Brown" in honor of local Grateful Dead festival). Maple syrup brown with light sparkle, thin, creamy head (nitro?) with excellent retention, nice soapy lacing. Aroma strong roasted malt, vaguely nutty and caramel. Taste is strong roasted malt, baker’s chocolate, vaguely nutty. Smooth, silky texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste with lingering bitterness.
