弾けるようなフルーティーさとフローラルなホップアロマにシャープなキレを兼ね持ったピルスナー
Character: A crisp and refreshing light lager with strong hop flavours consisting of candied citrus, peach, lemon, and flowery notes. Clean and bright, with a clear straw-coloured appearance, this beer keeps bitterness low and the finish dry.
Naming: The fourth and final in our "back in the day" series, this is another bright and aromatic beer, designed to take you back to sunny Summer days of youth, with the sounds, smells and sights from those carefree times. This product harks back to that feeling when you heard a new musician for the first time. As yet unknown but full of wild energy and a hungry spirit. The sparkling fruitiness reminiscent of peaches and lemons, and the floral aroma woven by hops carefully selected by Indie Hops in Portland, brings back that sense from when you're witnessing the birth of a star who will captivate the world.
Food Pairing: Pork shabu shabu with a refreshing and aromatic dip, herb roasted white fish, omelette with peaches
Brewer's Voice: 近年、ウェストコーストIPAは進化を重ねる中で、ホップの力強いキャラクターと、スタイルの特徴であるキレのあるドライな後味はそのままに、モルトの存在感をより軽やかにしてきました。その発想から、ホッピーでありながら、「軽く、シャープなビール」を目指した結果、スタイルをピルスナーへと発展させるのは、ごく自然な流れだったのです。
すべては、まずクリーンなラガーをベースにすることから始まります。モルトは上質なピルスナーモルトを主体に、ごく少量のとうもろこしフレークを加えました。とうもろこしによってボディはキリっとドライで軽やかになり、アメリカンライトラガーを思わせる軽快な飲み口を実現しています。その後、2か月以上かけてじっくりとタンクで熟成させることで、雑味のないクリーンでクリスプなフィニッシュに仕上げました。
このクリーンなラガーを白いキャンバスに見立て、以前から組み合わせてみたかった新しいホップを重ねることにしました。まず煮沸工程では、Audaciaを使用。コケモモやブラックカラントを思わせる風味に、ラガーとも相性の良いノーブルホップを思わせる上品なキャラクターを添えています。続いてワールプールではLorienを投入し、ライムやレモンを思わせる爽やかで弾けるような柑橘系アロマをプラスしました。
さらにドライホップとして、存在感のある2種類を採用。Indie Hopsの中でも特にお気に入りのLuminosaは、キャンディのような甘いフルーツやピーチレモネードを思わせる華やかな香りをもたらします。そこへCitraを組み合わせることで、おなじみのトロピカルシトラスのキャラクターを加えました。仕上がりにはほのかな樹脂感も感じられ、それが繊細で軽快な味わい全体を見事にまとめ上げています。
ホップはたっぷり使っていますが、その個性がラガー本来の軽快な飲みやすさを損なうことなく、見事に共存したウェストコーストピルスに仕上がっています。蒸し暑い季節にこそ飲んでほしい、そんな思いを込めて造った一杯です。

Can from Isetan. Love the label, and the notion of putting up songs lists from the 80s to go with these beers. Pale golden color with a high head. Clear. Brilliant hop nose, citrus, lots of topical fruit, stone fruit, even a touch of berries. Very unobtrusive malt. Fruity flavor, esters, hops, bready malt and corn. Unlike a pilsner in malt and body, more like a cream ale! I get the corn. Very fruity, nicely bitter finish. Fun hops. Great summer drinker.
