Black pour with a tall, mocha head. Aroma of cocoa powder. The flavor follows the aroma. A bit of sweetness but not overly so, very little bitterness. A bit thin but otherwise a nice beer.

Bomber. Deep brown body. Frothy, beige head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Tartness in finish. Taste of coffee and roasted malts along with cardboard. Lingering bitterness and a lingering off-taste of soy sauce. Lots of better porters out there.

Medium body with flavors of roasted coffee, sweet malt and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Decent overall.

22oz bottle bought in Asheville. Deep brown-black with a fading beige head. Medium bodied, a touch watery. A nice range of flavors going on...brown chocolate, mild coffee bitterness, a faint touch of wood, cherry. Comes together quite nicely, well balanced. Mellow, gentle carbonation. Bonus points for holding up after 6 months in the closet.

Bomber from Gail’s Hops & Grapes in Hickory, NC, opened 4/13/11. Pours a clear very dark brown color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of rich chocolate notes, roasted malts, faint nutty notes. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, bitter citrus and floral hops, nutty finish. Medium bodied. Straightforward porter, but very well made. I can imagine myself sitting at some bar in Asheville putting back pint after pint of this stuff.
