Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Cloudy orange with a short-lasting medium bubbly white head. Wheaty aroma of banana, some spiciness, citrus and sourish notes. Sweetish-sourish-spicy flavor with notes bread, lemony touches and some banana. Medium-bodied. An OK Hefeweizen.

Bottle from micro of month club, thought initially this was a Wyoming brewer so I could grab that stat but alas no, they moved to Idaho. Pours dirty very dirty in fact blonde with no head. Nose of bubblegum and tropocbal fruit. Tastes of grapefruit, banana, orange, cloves, bubblegum, pepper, and some wheat. Crisp but not quite there

On Tap at Brewforia Beer Market, Meridian, ID Classic hazy yellow with a white but fleeting head. Very soft aroma of fruity German hef notes. Flavor is quite Bananana-y and overall pretty sweet and not as crisp as better examples of the style.

Bottle. Cloudy golden body. Small, white head. Light aroma of clove, bubble gum, grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. A slight tartness finishes things off. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of clove and bleach in the aftertaste. Homebrew kit-like.

Bottle 6/21/12 - Pouirs a pale straw color with a light haze and lots of bubbles. Thin white head is short lived. Staunch aroma of corn, grass, and malts. Tastes slightly sweeter than the aroma would suggest, followed by a crisp grassy and herbal hop finish. Uninteresting.

12 oz bottle @ home. Hazy, golden orange appearance with an off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Spicy yeasty, rich clove, herbal, wheat, light banana aroma. Fairly spicy, bready wheat malty, a bit toasty, clove, dull flavor. Bleh.

Bottle. Banana, lemon, clove, and wheat malt aroma. Mostly clear golden yellow color with small head and moderate effervescence. Sweet ripe banana, clove and light wheat malt flavor. Pretty good - would have liked it better if it were a bit maltier.

Bottle. Yeasty wheat, citrus, bubblegum, clove. Hazy golden with a minimal white ring. Wheat malt, bubblegum, orange, clove flavor. Light carbonated body. I’m by no means an expert, but this struck me as a weird hefeweizen.
