To celebrate our ninth birthday we released a Baltic Porter that we aged in ex bourbon barrels and ex maple syrup/ ex bourbon barrels from the USA for 12 months. True to style this is a smooth, full-bodied porter with a strong malt back backbone balanced with the bourbon and subtle hints of maple. It has low-medium dark fruit esters and a creamy mouthfeel. Named after the village of Bungwahl which is about 30km south of the brewery.

(Can) Pours black with a tiny tan head. Lovely aroma. Plenty of wood. Toffee, hints of maple. Medium body, smooth with good carbonation. Great taste. There’s a very dark roast / burnt bitterness and dark toffee. There’s chocolate notes towards the finish. There’s some dark fruit notes at the start along with hints of bourbon. Hints of maple in the mid palate. Very enjoyable.
