Our first barrel-aged wild ale, Hidden Vine started as a Saison brewed with wheat and oats before refermenting for 12 months in white wine barrels with Brettanomyces. It was then racked atop 200+ pounds of whole Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
The result is refreshingly dry, slightly tart, and fruit-forward beer that brings together the best components of wild ales and white wine. The nose and palate evoke notes of fleshy pear juice, pineapple gummy bears, and lemon, just a touch of barnyard funk and minerality, with a mouthwatering finish.
