This gloriously amber-coloured ale is made with what is often considered to be the finest hop on earth, Simcoe. The result is a fantastically fruity finish with distinctly malty undertones.

A coppery beer with an almost medium and blond head. The nose of caramell malts, lemon, some wood, quite fresh. Taste is malty of toffee and nuts, nice bitterness that is slightly citrusfruity and wooden. The end is quite dry, medium long and wood, also interesting and fresh menthol. Easy to drink with light+ body. Enough of freshness, nice bitterness, for my taste could be more citrusfruity.

Bottle. Pours very clear, dark amber, a small foamy white head. Aroma- apple, cinnamon hints, bit of sugar, floral hops. Very nice smelling. Taste- lots of hop bitterness, floral/meadowy notes, fruity with hints of orange peel. Quite a long finish. Very good overall.

Slightly hazy amber beer, small off white head. Palate is dry and minerally crispy. Dry pale malt. Hops are mellow pink grapefruit and pink grapefruit peel. Whisper of tropical fruits. Dry crisp finish. Mild grapefruit peel bitter linger. Not bad at all, nice grapefruit!

March 14, 2014. Bottle at home. It pours deep amber with a medium beige head. The nose is wood, brown bread, grainy, light caramel, citrus peel, faint sherbet and fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter-sweet, pine, grapefruit peel, soft fruits, raisin, caramel, nutty, decent bitterness and varnish with a dry finish. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Alright. Not the most exciting beer from them, but pretty drinkable anyhow. score = 3.2. revisit in November 2022 on cask at the Grill, Aberdeen. Lovely condition. Cask version provides a better depth of flavour and body in my opinion. Robust and moreish. 3.6

330ml bottle from beers of Europe. Pours clear amber, thin white head, doesnβt really last. Nice pine aroma, light biscuit. Fruity sweet taste, good bitterness. Nice bitter finish, if a little thin. Good stuff though.

From a shared 33cl bottle at RBNG-14. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Fruity and spicy aroma with hints of tangerine and honey . Medium sweet and fruity with a well balanced bitterness. Finishes lightly spicy. Nice one! (2014-02-15 - Grand Tasting, Fredriksten festning, Halden)

Sampled from a bottle. Next to clear amber coloured body. Fair white head, laces nicely. Mandarin orange on the nose, mid-sweet. Fresh taste of tropical fruits with resinous bitterness to the aftertaste. Medium to thin bodied. Clean and very refreshing (Grand Tasting, RBNG-event, Halden 15.02.2014).
