Even if you aren’t as tough as Bad Elmer, you can still drink with him. This porter is a medium-bodied beer, brewed with lots of roasted malt, giving it flavors of coffee, liquorice, and chocolate. It’s rich, creamy, and characteristically dark yet extremely smooth. The initial light sweetness is followed by a clean, dry, roasty finish.

4oz pour at Churchkey is a transparent, deep brown. Malty nose, sweet, brown sugar. Flavors of light coffee, brown sugar, malt, a little cola. Standard, sweet porter.

Draft. Very dark ruby maroon, massive thick brown head, great tetention, solid lacing. Aroma of toasted and roasted coffee grounds abd cocoa. Taste is dilute coffee, chocolate, burnt espesso. More of an English style porter, which is fine by me.

Served on draft at the Indianapolis tasting room. Pours a dark chestnut color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet malts and roasted malts with a hoppy finish. Similar taste but this time with nutty notes in the finish as well. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Bottle. Pours cola brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma was roasty caramel malt, nutty. Flavor was coffee, roasted malt and a flat metallic aftertaste. Light mouthfeel with a bit of carbonated tingle.

Purchased at Breeze Thru in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed on a chilly Thursday night in the shower. This isn’t too bad, just a standard chocolate porter. Appearance pure black with a thin tan head. Aroma of pure chocolate, mocha, and creaminess. Taste just like the aroma but not as creamy, kind of thin for a porter. Not bad though.

thanks Tony @ OTH for the share. pours brown, med-tan head. aroma and palate, roast and coffee, dry palate, Light coffee, with some fantastic roast malts, finish with a mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light but with plenty of flavors to go around.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep red brown with a light tan head. Aroma is a bit light, but features coffee and cocoa. Flavor is quite robust, with anise, coffee, dark fruit, and cocoa. Great job.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep brown black color with a patchy beige head. The aroma is malty with just a touch of sour tartness. Medium bodied, a very easy drinker, which achieves a pretty balance between the sweet dark malt and the light hops. Roasty, with some cocoa tastes. A pretty nice beer, a little underwhelming in body, but still quality.

A dark clear brown porter with a super thick moka head. A light chocolate with off notes of olive. In mouth, a rather simple porter with light coffee notes, short in mouth, signs of infection. Oktoberfest evening at Marc Gratton’s, taste on April 20 2007

This beer is a mostly clear dark brown color with a medium thin and creamy beige head that diminishes steadily. Spotty lacing. Aroma of earthy malt and touches of chocolate and nuts. Medium, clean body with malt, nut and pine flavors. The finish is short and nutty with a burnt malt aftertaste. All in all this is a pretty standard Porter.
