On tap at Schafly Bottleworks, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out lots of oats upfront, with a hint of dry cocoa. Flavour is very hearty, with lots of oats dominating. Dry mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation. Nicely done.

Bottle, in US. Backlog entry. Entering my historic scores for US beers whilst visiting New York. No tasting notes kept, just rating.

Bottle from Discount. Pours a deep brown to black with a half finger of head that dissipates quickly. Coffee on the nose with cacao nib. Light with a cola-like carbonation. More toasted cacao and coffee on the palate. Smooth. This has a lot of flavor but still light. Solid. --- Beer merged from original tick of Oatmeal Stout on 18 Feb 2017 at 20:47 - Score: 7. A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light figs, dark fruits, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light peated notes, light coffee grind, musty character, light vanilla extract, a bit thin but overall, still solid after a few years. Bièropholie imports.

12oz bottle at brunch today. Poured a nearly pitch black color. Small tan head atop it. Aroma was some coffee roast. Oat character. Flavor was some bitter roasted chocolate malts. Flavor was about the same, roasted. Medium-bodied. Easy drinking.

Bottle. Aroma is bready malts and yeasty dough with slight alcohol. Appearance is opaque black with 1 finger-width light brown creamy head with minimal lacing. Taste is moderately sweet with mild bitterness. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin velvety creamy texture, soft carbonation and mild balanced sweet/bitter finish. Overall, a good, straightforward stout without hints of this or that--very good at what it is. Very nice mouth feel.
