2003 bottle. Pours a dark greyish-brown but has some softer amber tinges. Good cream colored head. Smells immensely creamy and oaty. Like a bowl of thick creamy oats but also a scent of vanilla. Man I love flaked oats. I enjoyed the aroma so much, that I couldnt stop myself from diving right in to the tasting of this one. And what a flavor. Smooth, creamy, silky. Big oats flavor, vanilla hints, malt in the background. Just incredibly drinkable. I drank this beer in about 2 minutes and immediately wanted another. No trace of alcohol. Not as complex as say Bell’s Double cream, but the oaty goodness is out of this world and the palate could not be any more rich, smooth and balanced.

A decent stout, but not very complex or flavorful. Pours a dark ruby (light does pass) with a thin tan head. Little to mention in terms of flavor; there are light roasted tones followed by an almost shy sweetness. Most comparable to the Chicory Stout by Dogfish head in its thin body and inability to challenge the palate. Nonetheless, drinkable.
