Abita Andygator®, a creature of the swamp, is a unique, high-gravity brew made with pilsner malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high-gravity brews, Andygator® is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma. Reaching an alcohol strength of 8% by volume, it is a Helles Doppelbock. You might find it goes well with fried foods. It pairs well with just about anything made with crawfish. Some like it with a robust sandwich. Andygator® is also a good aperitif and easily pairs with Gorgonzola and creamy blue cheeses. Because of the high alcohol content, be cautious — sip it for the most enjoyment.

Ein deutscher Bock in Alligator-Haut, ich bin gespannt. Optisch schönes Bernstein. In der Nase Keks, Trauben. Im Trunk Feuerzangenbowle, ehrlich, süß, Weißwein, leicht alkoholisch, bisschen Karamell. Ganz okay, dürfte aber deutlich aromatischer sein.

12 fl.oz. bottle from BierPost. A clear golden beer with a huge good lasting off-white head. Strong pale malty aroma, hints of grainy malt, sweet malt. Taste of strong malt, pale malt, mild sweetness, sharp grainy, a bit dry.

(Keg at Pikkulintu, 20170429) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, fruitiness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A sweet brew but nothing to do with any bock.

Tap at Flying Saucer Emporium, Memphis. Colour is clear light orange with small white . Aromas and flavors: Grain, some sweetness and malts. Simple and nothing special.

355ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with small, frothy to creamy half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, malty aroma, hints of honey, carrot, a touch of lemon. Taste is slightly sweet malty, unspecific fruity, notes of carrot, honey, dry hints of starch. Controlled sweetness, rather expressionless overall.

I’m kinda surprised by the low scores here, but not really. This is a nice hellerbock. Good malty sweetness, full and balanced, nice toffee flavors, with a light hop spicing beneath. Mildly warming.

At a tasting, thanks, smallish creamy head, cloudy deep orange color with yellowish hues, malty, nutty, vanila aroma, sweet malty and alcoholic. Not too exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Stas. Clear golden. Aroma of malt, honey, caramel, a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor, honey-ish, caramelly, alcoholic. Too sweet and boozy.

Draught @ Catfish. Rich golden yellow with small foamy off-white head, apricot aroma, low carbonation, lightly hopped slightly sweet taste with apricot flavor, thin body, abrupt finish, Interesting but not amazing.
