Bomber, Market Street Wine Shop Uptown. Pours golden, perhaps slightly hazy, with an inch of off-white head. Aroma of sweet grasses, light fruit. Taste is a bit of funky grasses, glue, yeast. It’s not bitter... not very sweet, but definitely sweeter than I expected.

Bottle, 355 ml from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with JFK10000. Clear golden, medium white head. Malty, sweet, fruity, light hoppiness. Alcohol well hidden. Ok, I guess.

Clear, amber-golden colored, small to moderate white head, nice lacing and lasting. Aroma is malty, some fruity shake, banana, a bit tart. Taste is medium sweet, some caramel and candy, quite a lot of fruits, banana, some herbal notes, grainy-bready finish, alcohol. Low bitterness. Medium bodied and carbonation. (Pivoteka, Zagreb)

355 ml bottle. Pours a clear golden with an average, short lived, off-white head that laces. Sweet malty aroma with fruit and grain. Sweet, bready malt flavour with caramel, grain and a hint of alcohol in a lightly bitter, dry finish. Medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Not bad, but nothing special.

Bottled 355ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Darker golden coloured, medium sized white to off-white head, alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, alcohol, notes of fruity hoppy and rather strong grainy touch in the finish. Expected more.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Black with no head. Aroma is dark malt, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is dark malt and dark fruit fruit.

Thanks Franski for sharing this with us! Poured a full golden body with a small white head. Sweet, slightly malty taste, a bit grainy, some glue, very light banana milkshake notes. hm. Copypaste that into the taste, only with more alcohol, thin and slightly dryish. Could pass as a random, just slightly above average macro strong lager.

Doppelbock from Louisiana, true to the tradition of giving them names ending in -ator (could have been Alligator in this case just as well, I suppose). Fairly thick and frothy, thinly lacing, egg-white head over a deep ’old gold’ coloured beer, as good as clear, but with tiny bits of yeast floating here and there. Quite pleasant sweet malt aroma with impressions of cookies, butterscotch and caramel candy, apple cake, freshly baked white bread, bourbon, dry white wine, toasted bread, powder sugar, starfruit, candied lemon and some less attractive hints of rancid butter, stale sweat and bubblegum. Sweet and lightly toasted malty taste, caramelly, with some restrained fruitiness at first (red apple, pineapple), soft carbonation, very subtle sourish touch, minerals, cookie dough, ’clean’ and smooth, leading to a finish of gently warming, bourbon-like alcohol, some grassy hop bitterishness and, more than anything else, lingering malt sweetness. Does have the typical profile of a German pale Doppelbock, not overly complex, but malty enough, with a pleasant alcohol warmth. Enjoyable if you like malty lagers, and does not need to stand back for comparison with the classic German examples of the style.

Oceana, new orleans tap: pours holden with little head. Aroma is sugar and starchy fruit. Taste is mostly sweet. Alcohol is well covered. Otherwise this is pretty meh.
