The is a pretty beer almost an amber/brown color. A well balanced beer that is great for the summer months. Unlike the porter, this is the beer that put them on the map.

Served in pint glass, dark reddish brown with thin head. Little aroma, mild taste, deceptive ABV. Clean finish, easy to drink. But still a non-distinctive beer within its style, lots of better competitors.

Bottle. Lightly sweet, toasty nutty malt aroma. Clear chestnut with a large off-white head, suspended flocculation. Nutty toasty caramel malt flavor. Body on the light side of medium, average carbonation.

Not quite so legendary. Pours clear brown with some fizzy initial head and not much lacing. Mostly just some light hops here, can’t get much of a sense of the malt here. Finishes with light sweetness. Tap at Big Board.

Cloudy brown with a puffy, cream head. Caramel, light chocolate aroma. Taste is caramel malt, mild nuts, creamy. A very decent, moderate brown ale. Satisfying and simple. Very solid.

On draught at Blue Sky Cafe in the Newport News airport. The beer pours a clear mahogany-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted nuts and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, nuts and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Bottle: Clear brown with a thin off white head. Aroma was light malts. Taste was not impactful at all light malts, wet, some sour tons. Wonder if the bottle was paste its BB date.
