At the Sweetwater Tavern, Sterling, VA 21/9/2014. Pale lager with a touch of grassy hop, some fruitiness and a decent, bitter finish. Fine.

Draft at the Sterling location. Yellow color, small but thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of lemon and white pepper. Taste is similar.

Sampled thanks to Ryan at the 2010 RBSG Grand Tasting. Poured a clear gold with a thin white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was a bit of pine and grass hops with some caramel and grain notes. Flavor balanced perfectly with some pine hops in the start which became grassy and melded nicely with the light caramel and grain notes.

Merrifield location. Cloudy golden/yellow color. Aroma is sweet with a bit of grass. Frankly this is one of the better pilsners I’ve had in a long time (I’m not a huge fan and they usually leave a dry, unpleasant grass taste in my mouth). Perhaps it’s because it might not have been a "true to the bone" pilsner. I liked it.
