On tap at Brewforia. Clear deep mahogany with a thin but creamy and lasting light tan head. Sweet malty apple cider aroma. Woody cidery flavor. Some metallic notes and well attenuated. Light bodied and softly carbonated. A bit small for an American Strong.

Weak raisin aroma, a little shitty. Cloudy garnet brown, no head. Watery and thin. Weak roasted malt flavor with maybe some raisin and brown sugar notes. Filmy palate. What is this? I was starting to dig Pike, but this has got to be their weak link.

12 ounce bottle from Once Upon a Vine South Richmond, VA, opened 6/26/10. Pours a clear dark brownish-ruby color with a medium frothy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Malty aroma with notes of toffee, raisins. The taste is toffee, candi sugar, chocolate, toastiness, faint citrus and a mildy hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Interesting beer.

Bottled. A dark red beer with a bit of sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and over ripe fruits - reminding me of a barley wine. The flavor is sweet with noets of malt and over ripe fruits as well as hint of oxidation. The body is a bit light.

Bottle: Chestnut brown pour with a finger of creamy beige head. Nose is somewhat lagerish into a grassey floral thing... A bit vegetal. Tastes lightly floral with a deep maltinesss and some nuts. Even a bit of cloves. Rather dry and lingering in floral bitters and spices. Different, I just couldn’t get into this at all.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear dark amber with a creamy off white head that leaves behind good sticky lacing. The aroma is a fruity malt with raisin and orange. Thin mouthfeel with a rich malt taste with cinnamon and clove. Alcohol present but not too overpowering. A good American stromg ale from Pike.

Pours dark brown into a trappist glass. Tan micro head with good retention leaves spot lacing as it recedes to skim rim. Mild dusty pit fruit aromas. Thin with dusty cinnamon and clove upfront. Slight citrus hop in the finish.

Small, light brown head that quickly fades over a hazy brown body. Okay lacing. Aroma is sweet with notes of bread, raisin, honey, donut and dark fruits. Taste is sweet malt, some cinnamon, and a donut flavor. Not very interesting. Watery mouthfeel and light carbonation. Would pass on it next time...

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Clear reddish brown with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of overripe fruit and burned caramel. Quite full-bodied with sweetish burned caramel and again notes of overripe fruit. Spicy bitterness in the finish. 291208
