Redfish is a hoppy red ale. Deep ruby in color, the nose is highlighted by aromas of orange and pine. The onset of flavor is characterized by hints of ripe citrus with a slightly bitter finish.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine West Richmond. Pours a clear pale amber color with fine floating particles. Large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel malts, woody hops, earthy finish. The taste is pine, citrus and resin hops, caramel malt finish. Medium bodied. Solid beer.

Buckets, Jenkintown, PA tap ($?): Pours a red color with a mostly white head. Aroma has plenty of hops in it, with less on the malty side. This is basically a solid, hop-forward amber ale. Although the reviewer below me said that this is not sesionable, I found it to go down pretty easy. Well-balanced throughout. It was not, however, an exceedingly interesting beer.

Deep ruby red with a nice head. Aroma had nice caramel malts and a decent helping of spicy, pine hops. Medium, well carbonated body. Flavor was quite hoppy. Pine, resin, caramel malt, a bit of grapefruit and floral notes, too. Finish was dry and spicy. I don’t generally enjoy FF beers but this one was a great surprise. (Draught at Standard Tap during the release shindig)

Aroma: The nose is decetly hoppy, with some caramel malts, and pine/resin
Appearance: This brew pours into the glass a mostly clear amber color with a small head
Flavor: The taste is decently balanced between the caramel malt sweetness and the hop bitterness
Palate: This one is fairly drinkable with a medium (leaning toward the light side) body, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid offering from Flying Fish. It is pretty drinkable and reasonably balanced. I think they hit on what they were trying to do here. This is a solid hoppy red.

Draft. Clear amber color, huge fluffy white head, solid lacing. Aroma of pungent grass, pine, subtle licorice. Taste is smooth pine and light spice. Nice.
