Can from Busch's. Pours a clear golden amber with a finger of white foam that dissipates quickly. Lovely Belgian yeast esters on the nose with banana, clove, peppercorn and warming alcohol. Palate is similar with more banana cream pie, clove and a touch of lemon. Boozy and finishes with more of the same notes. A bit boozy, but overall a fun Michigan Tripel.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is fairly ester forward with some nice pear and stone fruit notes. Some lighter banana with medium light clove phenolics. Light alcohol spice. Some light malt notes with toasted bread and caramel as well as some burnt sugar. Pours a clear, golden copper with a medium sized, fairly thick, slightly off-white head that steadily recedes. Low lacing and moderate legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with a lot of caramel, candi sugar and toasted bread. Moderate esters with a lot of pear and stone fruit and some lesser banana and red apple. Medium light clove phenolics. Some light alcohol spice in the finish. Medium light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright trippel. Nice yeast profile with good malt notes as well. Alcohol is well hidden.

12 ounce bottle into chalice, bottled on 8/16/2013. Pours lightly cloudy golden orange color with a small foamy white head with decent retention, that reduces to a spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big pear, apple, grape, banana, clove, pepper, honey, candi sugar, bread, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy esters; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, grape, banana, clove, pepper, bread, honey, candi sugar, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, banana, clove, pepper, bread, honey, candi sugar, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately crisp and slightly slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a great tripel! All around great complexity and balance of flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft with a meal. Ripe, sweet, dark fruit. Thick and heavy palate. Good beer to drink with food.

On tap at Bill’s Beer Garden. Pours a near clear burnt orange with an egg shell white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has a good amount of burnt candied sugar with some light fruits and a bit of earthy sweet grains. Flavor has a combination of light fruit, banana and candied sugar with a backbone of earthy sweet grains.

Fantome glass, cellar temp. Should’ve known about the yeast at the bottom..oops poured it all in. Now a bright orange murky appearance no head. Times of raw bread, some peaches and oak. Taste is very much to style...dark fruit, bread, citrus, peaches, figs, some honey and melon. Low carbonation, metallic penny like finish.
