Fairly nice mix of cherry, caramel, and grass aromas. Clear auburn, medium yellow head, decent lacing. Flavor is hay and leaves, subtle cherry notes, orange peel finish. Slightly resinous, but more than tolerable. A hoppy red, not imperial by any standard, nor is it an IPA. Nice beer and the brewery nailed it.

Pours deep orange-mahogany into a Sam glass. Off-white conglomerate head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Caramel, dough and mild resin aromas. Dry with earthy caramel upfront turning metallic in the lasting bitter finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-brown color with a large fluffy orange-tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was lightly toasty with a strong floral, herbal and piney hop presence that was moderately rough. The flavor was bitter and harsh vague fruity, herbal and piney hops. The finish was long, rough and hoppy. Medium body. Eh.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a medium creamy off-white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of grain, nutty notes, slight toastiness and a hoppy finish. The taste is toasted malts, caramel, herbal and citrus hops. Medium bodied. Well balanced. Good beer.

Bottle courtesy of argo0, thank you! Poured a clear, light copper color with a wispy white colored head. Grain notes in the aroma, caramel. Relatively clean, enjoyable enough.

Nice crisp copper and amber coloured body with a thinnish, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of bright citrus and piney hops with a touch of caramel and earth and a lot of nuts and squash (pumpkin) noticeable. Medium-bodied; Tastes like a marzen at first with a lot of earthy malt, nuts, caramel and toffee coming out, then quickly fades to an almost english pale ale taste with some earthy toffee hops and some alcohol and lightly drying oaky flavours at the tail end. Aftertaste shows some complexity as well with a bunch of good flavours hanging around from the caramel to the still potent hops! Overall, a very surprisingly good beer, one I wouldn’t have expected, but the complexity, hop flavour and caramel sweetness in this show very well, especially in the season. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 20-November-2011 for US$2.20 sampled at home in Washington on 28-November-2011.

Bottle courtesy of argo0, thanks! Bright amber color, scant head and lacing. Nice pine aroma. Taste is toast with caramel sauce. OK.
